Board member elections will also be held at this meeting.
The credit union bylaws allow nominations for positions on the ballot to be made by petition. At least one percent of the total membership must sign the petition. Total membership as of March 30, 2021 is 3,237. This means at least 32 members would be required to sign the petition. A brief statement of the nominee’s qualifications, biographical information, and a signed statement from the nominee that he or she is agreeable to the nomination and would serve if elected to office should accompany the petition. The nomination by petition must be received by the end of business day on Monday, May 17, 2021. The Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors has nominated Harald Borrmann, Peter Ryan, and Nate Lamusga as directors through 2024.
Harald Borrmann is running for his fifth term on the credit union’s board. He served as President, CEO, and Chair of the Board of Catholic United Financial from 2013 to 2020, after joining the organization in 2008. He has more than 40 years' experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Mr. Borrmann is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. He and his wife, Mary, are members of the Church of St. Frances Cabrini in Minneapolis, where he serves as a trustee. He also served his parish on the Finance Committee and Parish Pastoral Council. Mr. Borrmann has been a member of the Credit Union since 2008.
Peter Ryan is running for his third term on the credit union’s board. He has served as a Sales Representative of Catholic United Financial since 2002. A sales leader serving the Twin Cities western metro suburbs and Delano, Minnesota, he has earned numerous honors including the 2016 International Fraternal Insurance Counselor (FIC) of the Year award. Mr. Ryan and his wife, Jean, have been married for 31 years and have two daughters. They are active members of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Delano, Minnesota. Mr. Ryan has been a member of the Credit Union since 2002.
Nate Lamusga is running for his first term on the credit union’s board. He joined Catholic United Financial as Fraternal Youth Liaison in 2010 and has served as the Director of the Member Engagement Department since 2015. He began serving on the Credit Union Supervisory Committee in 2019. Before Catholic United, Mr. Lamusga was Executive Director of Twin Cities TEC, a local youth outreach, and as middle school director of religious education for St. Michael's in Prior Lake, MN. Mr. Lamusga is a graduate of St. John's University in Collegeville, MN. He and his wife, Hilary, have five kids and make their home in West St. Paul, MN. He is actively involved with the parish council at St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he and his wife also serve as a marriage mentor couple. Mr. Lamusga has been a member of the Credit Union since 2011.
